VPAS, the local Area Agency on Aging, has empowered those 60 years and older with the resources and opportunities they need to lead engaged lives since 1974.  Our focus is on helping individuals and caregivers successfully navigate the changes and challenges that come with aging.  VPAS' Senior Leadership Team embraces employee feedback and input for improving the services we offer in the community in order to be relevant and timely.

Part Time Team Support Specialists

VPAS is accepting applications for Two Part-Time Team Support Specialists in the Staunton, Augusta County, and Waynesboro (SAW) region to support our Senior Transportation program.

DAYS/HOURS: These positions are scheduled for up to 16 hours per week; one Monday and Tuesday, the other Thursday and Friday.

WORKSITE:  Waynesboro

RESPONSIBILITIES: This position provides support for the VPAS Senior Transportation Program in Staunton, Waynesboro, and Augusta County by transporting seniors to medical appointments, and other community destinations. This position also provides substitute support for Meals on Wheels and Cafe programs as needed. The position is responsible for conducting itemized vehicle checks on VPAS vehicles prior to driving them. 

QUALIFICATIONS:  Successful candidates must have excellent driving skills, customer service, communication, organization and time management skills; and be able to work independently and as part of a team.  Attention to detail, compliance with confidentiality rules, and sensitivity in working with vulnerable populations are required.  Must also be able to pass a physical including lifting 50 pounds.
