Farm Market Fresh for Seniors

Are you at least 60 years old or older?

Is your monthly income no more than: 1 person household - $2,248 or 2 person household -$3,040?

Do you live in Staunton, Waynesboro, Augusta County, Harrisonburg, Rockingham County, Buena Vista, Lexington or Rockbridge County?

If you answered YES to all of these questions you may be eligible for FREE Farm Market Coupons!

Older adults with limited income may be eligible to receive $50 in coupons to purchase fresh, locally grown fruits, vegetables, and cut herbs from participating vendors at local farmers markets this summer, thanks to the FARM MARKET FRESH FOR SENIORS PROGRAM jointly sponsored by Valley Program for Aging Services (VPAS), Virginia Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services, and Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

In addition to supporting senior nutrition, the program also supports local farmers and farmers’ markets in the VPAS service area.  The program is supported by the USDA, Food and Nutrition Service.

Individuals cannot be an immediate family member or live with a participating farm market vendor.  Only one coupon book per eligible senior or two coupon books per eligible couple per market season will be permitted.

FARM MARKET FRESH FOR OLDER NEIGHBORS PROGRAM coupons are available on a limited, first come, first served basis. The coupons are valid June1 through November18.
