Subaru Share the Love
For the 13th year running, the Meals on Wheels America network is participating in the Subaru Share the Love Event to help fight senior hunger and isolation. Over the past twelve years, Subaru and its retailers have helped Meals on Wheels to deliver more than 2.3 million meals nationwide to seniors in need.
How it Works
Now through January 4, 2021, for every new Subaru vehicle purchased or leased, Subaru will donate $250 to the customer’s choice of participating charities, one of which is Meals on Wheels.
Through this event, Valley Program for Aging Services (VPAS) will receive a share of the donation from Subaru vehicles sold at participating Subaru Retailers. These donations will help support the growing number of homebound older adults in our community who need vital nutrition and human connection in order to thrive.
How You Can Participate
Visit the Bob Wade Subaru showroom at 2941 S. Main Street in Harrisonburg to learn more, and bring along non-perishable food items (canned or boxed only – no glass) for the food drive we are hosting.
Especially needed at this time are:
- no sugar added fruit
- canned meats
- peanut butter
- vegetables
- individually wrapped granola bars
- add water only pancake mix
- low sodium soups
VPAS staff will deliver all donations to Meals on Wheels recipients and other vulnerable older adults who need additional resources this season. Thanks for helping us share the love in this challenging season!
