Upcoming educational programs at the Waynesboro Senior Center. The Waynesboro Senior Center, 325 Pine Avenue, will hold a Blue Christmas Dinner Dance to benefit the center with two Elvis impersonators, Saturday, December 13, 7 – 10 p.m. VPAS’s weekly Bingo operation that started on Oct. 3, 2013 at Waynesboro Senior Center has been discontinued. Details on the upcoming Blue Christmas Dinner Dance at the Waynesboro Senior Center. Puzzles are a great brain work-out—they force people working them to problem solve, pay attention to detail, and enhance visual and spacial memory modes. The VPAS Board of Directors, staff and volunteers associated with Bingo want to thank you for your participation over the last 14 months. A decision has been made to discontinue the Bingo. Diabetes Self-Management Program (DSMP) Leader Training facilitated by Brandy Wade, Program Director at Waynesboro Senior Center and Joyce Nussbaum, Chronic Disease Self-Management Education Coordinator, was held at the Augusta Health Community Care Building July 17, 18, 21, & 22. VPAS is pleased to receive financial contributions from the local jurisdictions to support our services to individuals in the Staunton, Augusta, Waynesboro (SAW) Region.
The Waynesboro Senior Center provides wheelchair accessible van transportation to the center for members in Waynesboro, Fishersville and Stuarts Draft who are unable to operate a vehicle, cannot easily access the public transportation system, or do not have alternative means of transportation available to them on a regular basis. The Waynesboro Fire Department and Valley Program for Aging Services (VPAS) have been selected to participate in a training conference on fire and fall prevention sponsored by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
